Misplaced Loyalties

Hello Readers,

Human relationships are one of the most complex and difficult things to master and manage. Its also extremely painful to be rejected and unappreciated and yet the world over, there is always someone, somewhere pining for a lost love or doing all the chasing after someone who devalues and disrespects them, ignoring pleas from their families and friends to give up wasting their precious time on a person who simply isn’t worth it.

This situation can apply to a romantic partner, a close friend or family member. It doesn’t really matter, the pain is exactly the same and it can take a very long time to recover from such a traumatic experience.

Take heed, you cannot force anyone to love you, so just be you. Those who leave you because they are selective about what they want you to be like never loved you in the first place. Never change for anyone just to get their attention and favours because it never lasts. There comes a point when you have to realise that you will never be good enough for some people, but the important question is – Is that your problem or is it theirs??

Trust is a fragile thing, easy to lose and one of the hardest things to ever get back. When you learn to love yourself and be comfortable in your own skin, then you will find yourself in one of the strongest positions of all, choosing whom you associate with rather than spending time with people out of necessity because you cannot bear your own company.

You don’t have a day to lose, every moment of your life is a precious gift. Don’t give your love or friendship away freely. This is called misplaced loyalties. Let others earn your love, your friendship, your respect and your trust.
