HELLO READERS
If you decide to purchase and bring home a Christmas tree to decorate with tinsel, baubles and sparkling, glittering lights, remember that personal fulfilment is not found externally, but is to be found somewhere deep down within your own soul, in a place where few people think to look. Trinkets, treats and new toys are short lived extravagances that people indulge themselves in to try to eradicate feelings of emptiness. They are nothing more than meaningless tokens that offer only a short-lived sense of pleasure and false security. They can be here today, and gone soon, such is their worth.
We have all the basics we need to survive, except for some people, some things will never be enough. More wants, more whilst greed wants the lot, bigger and better until they run out of money, ideas and excuses. Some live like nomads, always on the move in search of that which doesn’t exist, or travel far and wide only to return home discovering that everything they longed for was to be found on their own doorstep. Home, and a sense of peace and belonging is found where the heart is.
If we learn how to generate the energy of mindfulness and concentration, then with each breath and step we take, we can grow closer to what really matters and counts the most. Our true home is not a place far removed from us in time and space, nor is it something that we can just go out and purchase because inner peace and contentment isn’t easily experienced by everyone. Our true home is present right in the here and now, if only we knew how to be truly present to it. When the outside world feels especially overwhelming, coming home is such a sweet relief. It is an intimate, private place where we can relax, feel comfortable and safe. Home isn’t necessarily a place, but a feeling, and it can be absolutely anywhere.
Once we take a step on the path towards home, we are finally on the right track. Our soul has the capacity to guide us to the place where we should be. Home is where you go when you run out of places to go. There is only so much partying and sofa surfing you can do. Even staying with friends or residing in the best and most glamorous hotels will eventually lose their appeal. Home is every living creature’s fundamental and basic requirement for survival. No matter how grandiose or small and humble, there is no place quite like home. Perhaps it isn’t where you came from, but somewhere you are going to. It is where, when you cross its threshold there is that wonderful, warm sense of belonging.
‘This structure is very special.
It means the world to me.
It began on a strong foundation,
A very secure place to be’.
Love and light,
Linda and The Lulas xxx
