Dealing With Stress

Hello Readers,

The people who affect your life and the downfalls you experience, they are the ones who help create who you are. Even the bad experiences can be learned from and those lessons are the hardest of all, yet some of the most important ones because they are a fine example of how never to be.

There is a lot of stress out there, and to handle it, you just need to believe in yourself. Always go back to the person you know you are, and don’t let anybody tell you any different because everyone is special and everyone has their own role to play in this life. Never make the mistake of changing yourself to be the sort of person you think someone else, a friend, a lover, anyone in fact, wants you to become, because that situation is doomed to fail. It’s like a car crash waiting to happen. It will only end in loneliness and frustration because no one can keep up that sort of act indefinitely. Even stars of stage and screen have to go back to being just themselves. So if someone does not accept you the way you are in the first place, do the only sensible thing. Put a healthy distance between you and that person. You have nothing to lose, nothing to hide and no one to impress. Besides, what have any of these people ever done for you anyway? Just think about that. Make a list of all the favours they have never done and never been there when you needed them the most. Perhaps they even dumped you in your hour of need. It happens the world over. There is a lot of that kind of behaviour about. So stop sucking up to them thinking that they are your friends, because they are not. You don’t need people to solve your problems. You need people around you who don’t become a problem.

In times of stress the best thing we can do is listen to each other. Everyone needs a sounding board from time to time. Life happens and sometimes our situations are so complex and difficult that we need someone to talk to. But the last thing we need is to be judged and frowned upon and spoken badly about behind our backs. And if that happens, remember this. You weren’t put on this earth to please other people. Live your life and work on eliminating all the stress out of your life. The stones people throw when you are down can be used as walls to keep them out.

Nothing is as chaotic as it seems. Nothing is worth diminishing your health. Nothing is worth poisoning yourself into stress, anxiety and fear. When we feel stressed out, that’s a signal that our brains are pumping out stress hormones. If sustained over a period of time, those hormones can ruin our health and make us all nervous wrecks. One of the best pieces of advice I was given was this. Instead of stressing yourself out worrying and whittling about what to do next or speculating what is going to happen next? Take a step back. Go slowly in order to reach your destination quickly. People live as though there are not enough hours in the day and make a lot of mistakes in the process. They say and do things they later regret. If only they had been calmer, more relaxed and thought more carefully about what they said to others. If you do things more calmly and methodically, you will get every job done properly, thoroughly and with satisfaction at the end of it all. Its vitally important to learn to manage stress because hard times always come and it’s a positive outlook that will get you through. Life is too short to stress yourself about people who don’t even deserve to be an issue in your life. So start as you mean to go on. Refuse to tolerate negative people. Separate them from your life and be happy. You don’t need any extra stress in your life. It’s not stress that kills us, it’s out reaction to it.

Until Next Week,
