Happy Christmas 2017

Hello Readers,

Its Christmas time once again and the season for giving and sharing.  It’s a time for celebrations, gatherings and a very special time to not only spend time with loved ones and those you cherish the most, but to extend the hand of kindness, generosity and friendship to others and to remember and acknowledge the plight of those who are struggling and finding things difficult at this time of the year.  It isn’t always an easy time for everyone and it can be filled with difficulties, sorrows and memories of Christmas’s past. We must also remember that there are a lot of people who are alone in this world and will not be spending Christmas with anyone or apart from loved ones because of difficult circumstances.

But what is the real meaning of Christmas?  Is it really the gifts under the tree, the lights at the window, the greeting cards that fall on our doormats, turkey dinners with the family, snow in the yard, stockings hanging over the fireplace and shouts of ‘Merry Christmas’ to those who pass us in the street?  Christmas is a necessity.  There has to be at least one day of the year to remind us that we are here for something else besides ourselves.  Yet the festive season can be a time of great joy and upliftment because it is symbolic of a time of healing and renewed strength.  Christmas is a time to re access our lives and examine our thoughts, feelings and actions.  It’s a time of remembrance, gratitude and forgiveness.  As much as it’s a time for looking back, reflecting on what has gone by, it’s also an important time to look towards the future with renewed hope and determination to improve our lives and vow not to keep on repeating past mistakes.  It’s a time for believing in the magic of the season that not only fills your heart, but spreads to your loved ones.

Christmas is a time for giving without any thought of getting for it is in the giving that we receive. It’s not what’s under the tree that matters, but who is gathered around it and the greatest gift of all is spending time with those you love.  Christmas is about doing a little something extra for another person, it’s about being selfless, understanding, kind and charitable.

On a final note, I would like to offer you all my deepest, heartfelt thanks and appreciation for all your support over the years in reading my weekly stars and blogs on both my website and Facebook pages.  It’s been a great honour connecting with you all because meaningful and important friendships have been nurtured and established as a result.  It’s been a pleasure working with you this past year and I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and wishing you all a very Happy New Year and may good luck and good fortune always be with you.

Love and light from Linda and The Lulas xxx
