Never Give Up

Hello Readers,

The temptation to give up is a common one and no one is exempt. Failure is easy and something that many of us find difficult to handle. Life happens. We cannot control the situations and circumstances that life throws at us, but we can control how we choose to handle obstacles when they are presented before us.

Whatever your walk in life, the ability to dig in and not quit when the going gets tough will not only set you apart from many others, it will set you up for a more exciting, more fulfilled and prosperous life. Adopting that dogged resolve, that ‘nothing is going to beat me’ attitude takes people to a place that few are prepared to explore and it’s here that life becomes more interesting.

Perhaps some of you reading this will be able to relate to my attitude in life. I am a bit of a rebel. When someone tells me I can’t do this, that or the other, my reply to them is ‘Watch Me!’ Anyone can sit in a corner and feel sorry for themselves. It’s the easiest thing to do, taking the line of least resistance because it requires no effort. But if you are like me, very independent and strong minded, you will understand the power of positive thinking and how important it is to remain positive even through your most darkest hours. And yes, it is harder putting on a brave face when you don’t feel like it, but what’s the alternative? The secret is to get up, get dressed, show up and do your best, no matter what!! There is a very true saying. ‘Laugh and the world laughs with you, cry, and you cry alone’.

What if I told you that in 10 years’ time your life would be exactly the same as it is today? I very much doubt that you would be happy, so why are you so afraid of change? Many of life’s failures are people who did not realise how close they were to success when they gave up. It doesn’t matter how slow you go, as long as you don’t give up. Perseverance is failing 19 times and succeeding the 20^th. It’s a matter of hanging on after others have let go. You either find a way or create one. A winner is a loser who tried just one more time.

So next time you find yourself in a tight place and everything seems to be going against you, never give up then, for that’s the best place and time that the tide will turn. Courage is not having the strength to go on, it’s going on when you don’t have the strength, so it doesn’t matter how slow you go, as long as you don’t stop.
