We Are All Slightly Damaged And Scared

HELLO READERS

The best way to not get your heart broken is to pretend you don’t have one. To be rejected by someone doesn’t mean you should also reject yourself, or that you should think of yourself as a lesser person. It doesn’t mean that nobody will ever love you any more, but first you must learn to love yourself.  A broken soul doesn’t invest in boundaries because the world has damaged them without mercy, they have to learn to survive and to develop the strength to stand alone. Never break your heart for those who left you, instead use that pain to restore your shattered confidence and self-worth. Tomorrow is always another new day. We are all just illusions of what we want the world to believe about us, all actors on a stage performing for our audience. It makes you wonder what is real and what is not? Some people don’t even begin to understand what lurks below the surface and most of the time they are not even interested, they just pretend to be. It’s usually all about them.

It’s time to forgive yourself for all the great things you haven’t done nor become and exonerate yourself from all the poor souls you couldn’t save, perhaps because they didn’t really want saving. Remember all the fragile hearts you broke because you knew no better, and for your own lack of understanding and empathy. You no longer want the things you were craving a year ago, and the realisation has probably hit you that not all which glitters is gold. Turn down the volume of your negative inner voice and create a nurturing, kind worded mantra to take its place instead. When you make a mistake, forgive yourself, learn from it and move on instead of obsessing about it. Neither must you allow others to dwell on your mistakes or shortcomings, or to sit in judgment. What you don’t tell them they cannot repeat nor use against you.

The person you have to ask for forgiveness from the most is yourself. This world has become littered with the broken souls of the defeated and dejected. May you find the comfort of repentance and the grace of forgiveness by being honest with yourself. A fine glass vase goes from treasure to shattered fragments the moment it is smashed. Pick up all the splintered pieces and focus on your healing and restoration. We die a little every day, and then, by degrees and then we are reborn into different people but with the same scars as reminders of who we truly are.

You may be damaged,  broken and slightly unhinged, but so are shooting stars, comets and a lot of other people.

Love and light,

Linda and the Lulas xxx
