All that glitters is not always gold and nothing is ever as it seems, so don’t be fooled and taken in as a fool either.
It doesn’t always pay to be too trusting and willing to take people or situations at face value. A wise, cautious, perceptive person will always stand back and take stock, do their homework, make some enquires and spend time thinking about things before giving their answer. They will dig down deep beneath the surface because they know that there are always hidden factors that represent the truth which are not on show or public display because that would be giving the game away wouldn’t it?
Always look for reasons why people are the way they are, act the way they do and behave towards you the way they do. When people respond to a situation with anger, impatience and agitation, it’s because there is more to the story than meets the eye, or what they are prepared to admit to. Behind their rage is a fear of either being hurt or found out, so they would rather push you away than admit to the real truth of what is going on behind the scenes whilst they continue lying to themselves along the way. Yes, it can cause you to feel somewhat miffed and disappointed, but not necessarily surprised either.
If you had listened to your gut feelings right from the very start, you would have sussed out reasonably quickly that things were not right and that you were being fed a lot of lies and excuses, except that some people never learn and keep going back for more bad treatment. So always make a point of reading between the lines whilst people are talking because they nearly always make a mistake and important information tends to slip out unintentionally and then it’s down to you to pick up on it and file it away for later use.
And of course, the story depends on who is telling it, but all that peeps is not always sweet.
