HELLO READERS
Life swings like a pendulum, backwards and forwards between pain and boredom, this and that, here and there, never stopping for anything nor anyone. What kind of life can you have in a house without books? How empty our lives would be without mental and emotional stimulation or anything to focus our energies upon. Our mortal soul is a thousand times too short for us to bore ourselves to death wasting away directionless and without purpose. There are no uninteresting things, only uninterested people, who can be tediously hard work to be around and devoid of stimulating conversations.
Love can turn into a magical prism making it possible to discover a rainbow of colourful sparkles filled with enchanting, eternally happy stories. As our imagination constantly discerns new qualities, the vivacity of love does not suddenly expire in the boredom of familiarity or forgetfulness. It usually takes something big to extinguish it. We are all actors on the world stage of play acting, and as the curtains open, we put on our best performance to the awaiting audiences but do tread cautiously because a genius in the wrong position can easily be taken for a fool. Many people try to talk like philosophers, but live in the shadows, hiding away out of sight, out of mind, or so they think. There are eyes and cameras watching everywhere.
No matter how rich or successful you may be, or how inventive your ideas, people with little knowledge or experience try to do the difficult, or dangerous things that more sensible people would not consider doing, so wisely exclude yourself from the inflammatory environs of jocular clowns and court jesters. You are not the tea party entertainment but deserve to be revered and respected. Decline invitations from anything which could bring you down. The damage is often irreparable.
Some people go through life fighting imaginary giants and monsters of the deep. Paradoxically, the more sacrifices we make for a phantasmic story, the more tenaciously we hold on to it, because we desperately want to give meaning to the sacrifices we have made, or to the suffering we have endured or caused. Most liars often deceive themselves about their ability to hoodwink others. They think they are geniuses at it, when most people see through their facade quite quickly. Yet their brittle egos and lack of self-awareness prevent them from admitting that they are unimpressive storytellers. They refuse to own up to their failings, so they never learn important life lessons, make any positive progress at becoming better people, and so their life on the merry go around of fantasy continues turning with no beginning nor end.
The lies we tell other people are nothing to the lies we tell ourselves. People love answers as long as they are the ones who dreamed them up. There are moments when the walls of the mind wear thin, and where nothing much is absorbed. Some people take random holidays in an attempt to put some distance between themselves and reality. They often lie about their own lives to make them sound and feel more exotic and interesting, but worst of all, they lie to themselves.
It’s always easier to accept the most outlandish lie that confirms your suspicions than the most obvious truth that denies them. Desperation is the real reason for drastic change. Only those who can leave everything behind they have ever believed in can ever hope to escape. Nevertheless, the strange thing about escape is that you never really disappear because wherever you go, your problems and conscience goes with you.
Did perpetual happiness in the Garden of Eden get so boring that eating the forbidden fruit was justified? The price of being a sheep is boredom. The price of being a wolf is loneliness. Choose one or the other with great care.
‘Choose your leaders
with wisdom and forethought.
To be led by a coward
is to be controlled
by all that the coward fears.
To be led by a fool
is to be led
by the opportunists
who control the fool.
To be led by a thief
is to offer up
your most precious treasures
to be stolen.
To be led by a liar
is to ask
to be told lies.
To be led by a tyrant
is to sell yourself
and those you love
into slavery.’
‘If you never see a fool
You’ll always be happy.
The one who keeps company with fools
Will be sorry for a long time.
It’s painful to live with fools,
Like being always with an enemy.’
Love and light,
Linda and the Lulas xxx
