Hello Readers
Happiness, not in another place, but this place, in the here and now. Sometimes we have those difficult days that just seem to merge together and dissolve into oblivion leaving behind a trail of trauma and unfinished business. We want to complete our tasks, yet we can barely get started which is a clear indication of exhaustion setting in causing everything to grind to an abrupt halt. Upon starting work, once there, positioned in the usual place, our mind blank, we sit staring into nothingness, daydreaming, looking for excuses and escape routes whilst hardly moving. It all gets too much. Later, we continue keep doing everything in slow motion because it’s the end of a long day and we simply can’t be bothered. Motivation and excitement has gone through the window, and so to bed until the next morning, but tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone.
Success is not obtained overnight, it has to be worked at. It arrives in instalments until the whole package is yours to behold, but to achieve your goals, you must be prepared to put in the effort and make all the necessary sacrifices and changes until success is assured. There is a price tag attached to everything and rarely will you get something for nothing. The day you procrastinate is when you lose that day’s chance to celebrate your accomplishments. All things are possible, it just depends on how much you want them.
When a new day dawns, dare to smile gratefully. Let there be no regrets, explanations nor justifications for your failures. We all have choices. May you stop being haunted by the ghosts of yesteryear and start planning ahead for a new and better future. The past is no more. Sometimes fatigue is not just devoting too much time on someone or something, but of knowing that not enough time was spent on priorities and necessities, focusing instead on items or people of no use or worth. As always, everything is a last minute mad dash, usually to pacify and please the ungrateful whilst going miles out your way for no thanks at the end. Then you wondered why you even bothered, but you did. If you always do the same thing, you will always get the same result. If something is not working for you, change it. It’s time to be brave and daring with yourself.
When the future looks dark and daunting, don’t panic too much because it is not yet here. You are always in the present moment at any given time. The next moment is always on its way. It will be here sooner than you realise, and then it is gone again. By thinking deeply, seriously and introspectively, it helps to see matters more clearly and come up with some ingenious ideas of how to make plans and tackle problems. Some people waste a lot of time talking themselves in and out of situations and scenarios without actually achieving anything at all, so nothing is gained. Waffle and false promises are often associated with time wasters and those without much substance, nor the sustenance to be relied upon. Indecisive ditherers are some of the most annoying and frustrating characters to deal with. They say one thing, but mean another, and then not even that because they speak nonsensically about outlandish stuff causing confusion everywhere, including themselves. Having made a decision, do not revise it unless some new facts or information are presented that warrant your attention. Nothing is so time consuming as indecision, and nothing so futile as hollow words and empty promises. A decision unmade is still a decision because it is still a choice.
True leadership must show strength, resilience and courage, otherwise all respect and faith will evaporate. Broken promises are like a slow poison because there is no knowing just how deeply disappointing, they can be. They damage reputations and destroy confidence. Even amongst the most loyal of persons there is a limit to how much can be tolerated.
Level-headed people tend to view life logically and are not prone to emotional outbursts or self-inflicted woundings. They are relaxed whilst endeavouring to perform tasks and deeds with a quiet mind. They can almost anticipate what is going to happen next because they can read their surroundings well and in tune with their intuition. They are totally focused on what they are doing and don’t require supervision nor cajoling into working diligently and conscientiously. They have a realistic goal in sight and aim for completion.
Sometimes solutions are found when you refuse to be influenced by external voices, clatter, chatter and uninvited din. You will never meet a strong person who comes from an unchallenged past. We are all the result of our past experiences because they have brought us to this point in time today. The ability to recognise our own personal limitations is most important because eventually every dreamer must wake up from out of their slumber to be in the present moment.
Today is a new day, so embrace it gratefully. Don’t allow your history to interfere with your destiny. Learn from your past so that it can empower your present and propel you towards greatness of mind, body and spirit. There is a limit to the time assigned to all of us, so if you don’t use it wisely to free yourself of negativity and toxicity, you will realise your true potential.
We can’t undo a single thing to change the past, but we can make good decisions to enhance our future. Make a conscious decision to start each day with the decision to own it.
‘Live like there’s no tomorrow,
Dance like no one’s around,
Love like you’re not afraid,
Breathe as if it’s your last breath,
Give as if you were rich,
Speak what could be your last words,
What if there is no tomorrow?
Would you be left with sorrow?
Love God like you never have before,
For if there’s no tomorrow, you can’t.
See like you’ve never saw before,
If no tomorrow, what would you see?
Walk a walk you’ve never walked before.
But have the talk to match.
Remember all who love you,
But love thy enemies.
You only get one chance to live today,
And there may be no tomorrow.
So live like there’s no tomorrow.’
Love and light,
Linda and the Lulas xxx
