Just Keep Going

Hello Readers,

Your hardest and most difficult trials often hit you when you are at your lowest ebb and leave you feeling in utter despair. Take heart, there is a reason for everything, although at the time, its very difficult to comprehend. Whilst you are battling through, you are being led to your greatest moments because no one knows what they are capable of until they are severely tested. Keep faith, because it will all be worth it in the end.

Like many of you, my family and I have had to endure and live through tremendous difficulties during our lifetimes and its only when you are faced with weeks, months, years even that not only do you sort out who your true friends are, but the ones who support you through thick and thin no matter what. Its no good trying to explain to people who have never had to face any real obstacles or understand what it is like to live and breathe worries and strains because you are completely wasting your time. Surround yourself with people who have walked the walk and talked the talk because they are often the voice of experience.

Its so ironic that it takes sadness to know what happiness is, noise to appreciate silence and absence to value presence. You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude towards what happens to you and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you. Taking good care of yourself, rewarding yourself is not selfish. Its absolutely necessary and incredibly important if you are going to survive the tests of life. You will get no brownie points or gold stars for being a martyr during tough times and that includes not eating properly, not resting nor saying ‘No’ when you need time for yourself because there are times when having to listen to certain people rabbiting on about trivia can prove incredibly exhausting.

I have often observed that people who chase around like headless chickens, lunatics even, trying to kill time, fill a void, anything that prevents them from facing the truth about themselves and the situations they managed to get themselves into make a lot of bad decisions because they have not taken the time to either seek proper advice nor think things through properly. They constantly wear themselves out to a frazzle and then wonder where ‘it all went wrong’.

Just a few minutes a day to mediate, take the dog out for a walk, switch your phone off, have a cup of tea, watch the telly, listen to music or read a book works as a distraction. It also allows your mind to rest for a short while and can make a huge difference to the sort of choices you eventually end up making regarding pressing situations. Jumping in, feet first into the deep end of any situation often has a very high price tag attached to it and in the end the sacrifices made are not always worth it, nor appreciated by others.

There is a very famous saying that goes like this and I love it.

‘If an egg is broken by outside force, life ends. If broken by inside force, life begins. Great things always begin from the inside’

Until Next Week,

Love and Light,

Linda and The Lulas xxx
