What Is The Other Person Trying Express?

HELLO READERS

When you give yourself permission to be yourself, you will discover peace, despite any more rejection or disapproval. Putting a voice to your soul helps you to let go of the negative energy of fear and regret. Just because you find it difficult to express your feelings, it doesn’t mean they are not deep, purposeful and with meaning. Always be honest with yourself first and foremost because not everyone else will be. Often, what they don’t know they will make up as they go along.

Once you start observing conversations, you’ll quickly recognise that most people are terrible listeners. Even if they ask a question, they are not always patient or aware enough to listen to your answer, and so, they continue to butt in and talk over you. They like the sound of their own voice, no matter how scratchy. Even before you are able to finish what you are trying to say, they waste no time in interpreting what they think you mean, offering uninvited advice and opinions, or start telling you something from their own life. They will say whatever comes into their head without thinking because it’s all about them. If you are lucky, they may let you finish one sentence, and when you take a short break or a pause for breath, they will quickly jump in chattering again,  and once again, off they go.

All wisdom is the result of listening and learning. The single most important key to success is to be a good listener. You demonstrate that you don’t pay attention to others when they realise that you cannot remember what they have told you earlier because your mind was elsewhere, distracted, preoccupied with other things, or just plain bored. You were not paying attention, so definitely switched off. Listening is a magnetic and strange thing, a creative force that cannot be harnessed, but only given freely. The friends who listen to us are the ones we gravitate towards the most because they show an interest in our lives. When we are listened and adhered to, it helps us to unfold, grow and expand. It helps to rebuild our confidence and faith in people. We automatically begin to reveal hidden parts of our personality and the beauty of our deepest feelings . We show vulnerability and sensitivity whilst giving others the curtesy they rightfully deserve. All living creatures just want to feel valued and understood. Everyone wants to feel worthy and important. We all have a voice which deserves to be heard.

‘How are the precious gift
Of looking into another’s eyes
Of listening with ears and heart
Of waiting for their story to unfold
How rare the precious gift
Of nurturing the silence
Of letting each petal bloom
Slowly in its own time
How rare the precious gift
Of truly listening
Of sharing inner secrets
Of walking in hidden gardens
Nothing is more precious
Than a listening friend.

Love and light,
