Letting Go, Clearing and Healing

Hello Readers,

Do you find letting go difficult? Do you feel as though you are stuck in the past, reliving past issues and experiencing flashbacks of the traumas that you have had to live through? It’s as though no matter how much suffering you endured, it still feels as though you cannot seem to let go of those awful memories.

I have known people to absolutely refuse to forgive or to let go of another person to positively filling their heads and hearts with hate and resentment to the point of it being engraved on their hearts and greatly influence their  attitude as to how they treat others. These emotions become heavier and heavier to carry, they evolve into an eternal burden becoming all consuming, filled with dark, negative energy. How can anyone be happy finding themselves saturated with thoughts such as these? Tie no weights to your ankles and you will be free of it all.  Letting go means to come to the realisation that some people may be a part of your history, but not necessarily a part of your destiny.

Letting go does not mean that you don’t ‘care’ about someone or something any more, it’s just realising that the only person you have any control over is yourself. Incredible changes can happen in your life when you decide to take control of what you do have power over instead of craving control over what you don’t. Some people believe that holding on and hanging in there are signs of great strength, but there are times when it takes much more strength to know when to let go and then do it. There is no way you can hold onto something that wants to go. You can only love what you have got whilst you have got it. Sometimes it takes a heartbreak to shake us and awake us and help us to see that we are worth so much more than we are settling for.

The truth is, that unless you are prepared to let go, unless you forgive yourself, unless you realise that a situation is over and done with, you cannot move forwards.

Sometimes the hardest part isn’t letting go, but rather learning how to start over again, so do the right thing by demolishing the bridges behind you and give yourself the chance to start over again, older and wiser for the experience.
