Hello Readers,
The world accommodates you for fitting in, but only rewards you for standing out in a crowd because you are not afraid to be the unique, beautiful you. You are brave and intelligent enough to stand up for your beliefs and be true to yourself. No one really belongs anywhere. We are all slightly damaged, dysfunctional, and complicated. Many of us can only be recognised or identified by our scars. It is the fact that some people try so hard to be perfect that dooms them. They have yet to realise that perfection does not exist.
We meet people who always try to fit in, those who try to stand out and others who wish to remain anonymous, but rarely do we meet anyone who simply tries to be themselves without expecting anything from those around them. Anything or anyone that tries to change who you are, just to fit in, is not good for you. Only someone wishing to disappear would ever strive to ‘fit in’. We’re so quick to cut away pieces of ourselves to suit a particular relationship, a job, a circle of friends, incessantly editing who we are until we sort of fit in because we seek acceptance and approval. We all want to be extraordinary and we all just want to fit in, but unfortunately, extraordinary people rarely fit in anywhere. They are the loners of this world and very often, better off for the experience.
Don’t just exist, do something meaningful with your life. Make it your responsibility to brighten your corner of the earth. Decide to resolve your challenges instead of always running away courting avoidance. Rather than setting for mediocrity, create a good life and leave an indelible footprint for others to follow.
Accept yourself, love yourself, and keep moving forward. If you want to fly, you have to give up what weighs you down, allowing your wings to transport you from the darkness into the light. Life’s trials will test you, and shape you, but don’t let them change who you are. Worse still, don’t let them destroy you. Detach away from the people who do not value you nor show you any respect because you don’t need anything from them. You owe it to yourself to do whatever you can to make yourself happy. Even in the loneliest and most desolate of moments you are there for yourself when no one else is. Whether you try too hard to fit in or you try too hard to stand out, it is of equal consequence. You exhaust your significance.
It takes courage to be strong and independent. It takes bravery to show up in your own skin.
Taking into account the public’s regrettable lack of taste, it is to your own advantage to be yourself and never even try to fit in ever again.
