Nothing in all nature is more certain than the fact that no single thing or event can stand alone nor still because everything is evolving and changing. It is attached to all that has gone before it, and it will remain attached to all that will follow it. It was born of some cause, and so it must be followed by some effect in an endless chain of successive cycles of events. Through the law of cause and effect we choose our destiny. Even more importantly, we are our own prophets for we constantly project our future state by the seeds we plant in the present moment, hence, we reap what we sow.
Self-control and courage are the chief elements in self-respect and determine how we choose to deal with things. Keep this thought close by when you feel a fit of rage coming on and you are on the verge of blowing your top. It isn’t wise to be out of control, rather, gentleness and civility are more respectable and mature responses. Always think twice before speaking because the right choice of words and actions will always put you in a better light. Someone demonstrating self-discipline doesn’t give way to emotional outrages, discontent, risking making a complete fool of themselves nor harming others. A calm and relaxed person has an abundance of strength, courage, resilience and endurance to call upon, unlike the angry and complaining ones who show off when they don’t get their own way. They lack the necessary tools needed to win a fight. Never respond to an angry person with a fiery comeback, even if they deserve it. Don’t allow their misery to tarnish your reputation and happiness.
Yelling and screaming might make you feel better for a second, but it doesn’t solve any problems. Arguing with a rude person only offers them more opportunity to be even ruder and more aggressive which in turn drives you even further down into an unhealthy situation. Beneath their half polished exterior hides someone who is nervous and self-conscious. They try to appear superior because they are inferior creatures with few social skills, a low self-esteem and unaware of the consequences of their actions. Your feelings are choices. You can choose anger over calm and win the argument every time. Remember, circumstances do not change as a result of how angry you get at them because circumstances are not people, they are events. At times you may experience a transient feeling of wounded vanity, indignant displeasure or persistent displeasure at something or someone you regard as a wrongdoing, insult or injury. If in doubt, withdraw and remain anonymous and silent. Least said, soonest mended. An old resentment that you haven’t completely let go of, or a memory you didn’t fully explore, may come to your mind every now and again. Even though the whole situation could seem new, you need to remain mindful that you are reliving the same experience of what happened previously. That kind of introspection occasionally happens when we look back to the past and ahead to the future. We analyse where we are now and where we hoped we might be. This is a normal process, and if you handle it honestly and entirely, you won’t need to deal with it again, hence you are encouraged to face your demons and move on. Most of the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel special and important. They don’t necessarily mean to do harm, but the pain they cause does not always interest them as they seek self-gratification. Whilst we are free to choose our actions, we are not free to choose our consequences. Seek to be calm and still because that way you will always see and hear far more.
