Life is an unpredictable journey into the unknown, and sometimes taking risks is the only way to grow and discover our true potential. If you think adventure is dangerous, routine can be lethal, whilst monotony could affect your ability to think and function sanely. Seek changes and challenges like the air you breathe, falling in love with as many experiences as possible because the end can take us by surprise.
To live a life of excellence, you must be prepared to take risks, like stepping out into new territory, climbing steep mountains and meeting exciting people. If you are not ready to engage in new and different pursuits, you are probably underachieving. To leave a lasting legacy in the world, you must stand apart from the low achievers, refusing to remain in your rut, and theirs, for any longer than is necessary.
Taking the first step suggests a turning point in your life, a moment of decision, madness and change. It’s about risking everything to realise your dreams. Putting everything on the line, even when you are unsure of your footing, demands bravery and courage. Those who achieve the extraordinary are usually the most ordinary, because they have nothing to prove. They just get on with it. If you haven’t put the work and effort into earning something yourself, then it’s not worth having nor flaunting.
All of life is an experiment, and the more investigations you make the greater your chances of success. It may be that a new opportunity involves an element of danger and risk taking, but it could turn out to be a good thing. After all, nothing ventured, nothing gained, so you are encouraged to travel into unknown territory. Anything you to do to ease yourself out of your comfort zone will ultimately enable you to take greater risks in the future whilst evolving and improving your skills and capabilities. Perhaps something that you previously wanted was not possible or available at that time. Lately, thoughts of that desire may have drifted into your mind which is why you are dwelling on them now. Let your fantasies take you wherever they must but keep your feet on the ground. Be mindful that things were different in the past, almost another lifetime ago, and now you have more experience, better connections, sharper instincts and improved self-confidence.
It is no secret that the greatest treasures are found in the most remote, inaccessible and difficult places. No one ever said it was going to be easy. There is no security in your mansions, fortresses, family vaults, banks or anywhere at all. Understand that everything involves risks and taking a gamble. Remaining in one place is just another way of guaranteeing is that everything will stay the same. Acquiring knowledge is the best shield against ignorance, apathy and wretchedness. Only those who take part in the game of life will have a chance of winning freedom. History always favours the brave and daring, whilst cowardice deserves no accolades. Forget the timid, meek and mild because they will remain frozen to the spot until they petrify. If you dare nothing, then when the day is over, nothing is all you will have gained. Without struggle, success has no value, so never confuse comfort with happiness. From this point forward, you don’t even know how to quit in life.
Acknowledges that blossoming into something meaningful involves risk and vulnerability. Change carries far less fear than the suffering of maintaining the status quo. The reward is in the risk.
