How many shades of light or darkness separate the distance between love, hate and indifference? How little the graduated scale of love and infatuation is understood, yet endured out of duty, obligation and self-sacrifice? Ardent mothlike admirers sizzle their wings upon the flames of their objects of desire, who, in turn, ignore and disregard them. They never seem to learn that pain hurts and doesn’t always go away, and so they keep going back because they want more of what they can’t have or even afford. Emblems of grief slowly dim when there are alternative romantic possibilities on the horizon, and what was once deemed important suddenly disappears into obscurity, such is the fickleness of it all.
Love is such a complex issue of paradoxes that exist only in endless forms of delusional fantasies that bewitch anyone who falls under its spell. Everyone has their own personal interpretation of love, grief and sorrow, but they don’t always share their feelings and experiences, choosing to guard their privacy, remaining closed and in the shadows. Love represents all the colours in your world, so enjoy the different shades and interesting sensations and special gestures that make you feel alive again. If you don’t receive love from the ones who are meant to love you, then you will never stop searching for it, nor discover any genuine substitute for the real thing.
To burn with desire whilst suffering in silence can be torturous. So many people live in tormented purgatory as it all gets too much to bear. Perhaps the heart you long for belongs to someone else, never to be yours, nor even anyone’s? Unrequited love does not die, it’s only beaten down to a secret place where it hides away, bleeding and wounded. For some the heartache turns confusingly bitter, and momentarily sweet, but for those lovers who follow afterwards, often pay the highest price for loving the damaged ones who cling onto the past seeking revenge.
If you don’t fit into the world you inherited, be glad that you are different to the rest of the crowd. Never compare yourself with others because after all, who are they anyway? Let no one be called completely unhappy because even love unreturned can turn out to be a blessing in disguise. They call it dodging a silver bullet or blessings in disguise. Cherish all the good things because eventually some memories become legacies whilst other evaporate into the ether and later forgotten.
A narcissist will always make you feel like you are not enough because they themselves are empty inside. Every disorder, difficulty and disagreement is either too much or too little, but there arrives a time when you must turn the next page, write another chapter or simply close the book for all eternity and start over again. What is done is done and cannot be undone.
You deserve somebody who knows you are rare.
