Amidst endless noise commotion, confusion, mixed emotions and people reacting to the slightest hint of disturbance, it is understandable to view things with suspicion and trepidation. It’s always easier to observe when standing on the other side of the fence because when we are positioned too close to a situation, it’s difficult to be objective. As the whispers and murmurs in the shadows continue, these are mainly the voices of people who are not always in full control of their faculties. They tend to jump to conclusions imagining the worst-case scenarios, spinning stories and weaving gossip causing unrest. They enjoy no inner peace, forever lunging from one drama to the next irrespective of the outcome or cost of their actions. Why should they care?
Calmness and serenity is a state of mind and heart where you are comfortable with yourself and have no desire to seek external validation. There is no need to react to provocation because no one has any real power over you. This is the best position to find yourself in because with enough inner strength and armour to protect yourself from invasions of negativity, kindly donated by the bored and toxic wandering around aimlessly looking for trouble, you can overcome just about anything.
In times of great uncertainty, the ability to keep sangfroid isn’t a luxury, it’s an absolute necessity for our sanity and survival. All misery is deeply rooted in fear, an emotion that characterises periods of great unrest, anxiety and insecurity based on past experiences. It is the cradle of hate, violence hostility and oppression, but what is done is done and cannot be either forgotten nor undone. Even though we may feel that it’s the outside world which is responsible for causing so much pain and upset, it’s actually the way we think and feel about our circumstances that cause all the problems. No one else can feel our pain and suffering, only we can. If they are incapable of feeling empathy, compassion or unity, avoid them.
The mind is a powerful instrument that is capable of turning fantasy into reality, manifesting something out of nothing, and nothing into something. Our ability to think for ourselves and make decisions is the reason why we manage to survive in a world that is often hostile, harsh and unforgiving, but by trusting our instincts we discover ways of navigating our journey through all the mayhem and chaos until we find the sanctuary we seek.
Exploring possible solutions to problems is helpful, but when we overdo things and become exhausted, we can so easily become distracted finding ourselves adrift in a maelstrom of excessive worry and anxiety which affects our inner peace lessening our confidence. This is why silence and convalescence is so powerful and important. We are constantly challenged by our demons, fears and self-doubts. Most events that have badly affected us previously will continue to represent themselves until we have found ways of dealing with them. There is no hiding place.
It’s always useful to remember that in any situation if you react it won’t change anything except weaken your position. Revealing your vulnerabilities won’t suddenly make people love and respect you more. Sometimes it’s better to just let things be and allow nature to take its course. Not everyone is going to understand you, nor are they worth the effort, so save your breath and energy. You have much to see and do and places to go. There is no room for self-neglect.
There are times when we must stop, pause and reflect whilst listening to the breeze from another other dimension begin speaking to us.
