Hello Readers,
Anyone sure of their quick wit will always defeat someone not sure of their temper. No sensible person ever engages unprepared in a fencing match of words with someone wayward and so obviously out of control. You cannot reason someone out of a position that they did not reason themselves into. A wise person doesn’t pretend to know everything; they only speak on matters they are certain of. They demonstrate their wisdom by practicing silence and diplomacy.
Those who attempt to plead their cause in the absence of an opponent can fabricate their stories till their heart’s content. They can pontificate without taking into account the opposite point of view whilst keeping the best arguments or fantasies for themselves. Aggressors are always quick to judge and attack those who have no means of defence. They are life’s bullies, but cowards at heart.
Never appear surprised at the stubbornness of some people. They thrive on conflict and enjoy a fight because in their reality, they have to always be right. Refuse to massage their ego by agreeing with them. Down grade their importance by relegating them to the bottom of the pecking order. When there is little room for negotiation, there isn’t much more to be said, only done.
They will dispute everything, not to find or even to seek the truth, but for their own personal gains. They need victory to appear the more superior and as strenuous upholders of a contrary opinion. Such people should be avoided at all costs because they haven’t a constructive idea nor plan that works well. They are just full of hot air filled with ‘ifs and buts’ to be taken with a pinch of salt.
When you sense, see or hear trouble ahead, step aside and let the storm pass. You crossed that same threshold a long time ago when you realised that it was not worth your time, effort and energy to participate in meaningless small talk and negativity. There are so many other enlightening activities and conversations to be enjoyed elsewhere.
Don’t waste your time with excuses or explanations. People only see and hear what they choose to, and if it’s not beneficial to their cause, they won’t be interested. There is no point in trying to convince them to believe you. It is what it is, but neither is their ignorance your problem.
Never raise your voice and lose control, instead, improve your argument. Always meet insults with laughter because smiling and nodding confuses them, but it makes you look and sound more intelligent.
Love and light,
Linda and the Lulas xxx
