Christmas isn’t a season, it’s about all kinds of mixed emotions and feelings. Christmas is a time for kindling the fire of friendship and hospitality and doing a little something extra for others. It’s our love that unite us at this very special and important time. When Christmas waves it’s magic wand over this world, suddenly, everything seems softer and more beautiful, if only for a few moments. When we recall Christmas past, we usually find that the simplest things, not always the grandest of occasions, fill us with lasting memories of bygone days. Christmas Eve is a night of beautiful songs that wrap themselves around you like a warm shawl. But it does more than just keep out the cold, it touches your heart and fills it with a melody that will last forever.
For many people Yuletide can be a special hell for those families who have suffered personal loss or who must admit to any imperfection. In some cases, the so-called spirit of giving can be as greedy as receiving. Christmas is our time to be aware of what we lack and of who is not at home. Are you willing to be humble and consider the needs and desires of those less fortunate than you, and to remember the weaknesses and loneliness of people who have nothing, suffering illness, struggling or growing old? To stop asking how much your friends love you, and to question if you love them enough? To demonstrate compassion, empathy and understanding is not familiar or even comfortable with everyone. Some have it whilst others talk about it yet do nothing. Everyone is always so busy until one day they need help. Trim your lamp so that it will give more light and less smoke, and to carry it in front so that your shadow will fall behind you where it belongs. Make a grave for your negative thoughts and create a beautiful garden for your kindly feelings remembering to be leaving the gate open. Are you willing to do these things just for a day? If so, then you are ready to keep Christmas.
This year The Lulas and I join you all to celebrate one of the Holiest of festive celebrations. We are sending you all our love and best wishes for this Christmas and the forthcoming New Year. May you be blessed with the best of health and happiness now and always. May you all have a very happy Christmas with lots of love and good cheer to make it more memorable for all the right reasons. Peace on earth will come to stay when we live and believe in the story and power of Christmas each and every day.
‘If Christmas is hard,
If you’ve lost someone dear.
Just look in your heart,
And you’ll know they’re still here.
The star in the sky,
The light falling snow.
The robin outside,
It seems like they know.
If this is a time,
When you’re struggling through.
Just do what you can,
For what matters, is you.
There’s no need to be merry,
There’s no need to bright.
Just do what you can,
It will all be alright’.
Love and Light,
Linda and The Lulas xxx
